When Hanson Insurance Agency opened in 1979, the decision to operate as an independent agency wasn't incidental — it was the foundation. Stephanie Lipinski
President and Owner
Stephanie founded Hanson Insurance Agency in 1979 and has built it over more than four decades into a trusted institution on the South Shore. A Stonehill College graduate, she was among the first female independent insurance agency owners in this region — a distinction she carried forward by earning SDO and SOMBA certification as a women-owned business.
Licensed in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, California, New Hampshire, and Vermont, Stephanie brings broad coverage across personal lines, commercial accounts, and life, Medicare, and disability planning. Her approach to every client conversation is confidential, direct, and rooted in one principle: being the local advisor South Shore families and businesses turn to because they trust her — not because they have to.
Outside the office, Stephanie has been a Whitman/Hanson Business and Professional member since 1990, a member of the South Shore Women's Business Network, and serves on the Board of Directors at North Easton Savings Bank. She's also a Notary Public — a practical convenience she's offered clients since 1978. You'll find her at Hanson Day and trunk-or-treat most years, when she isn't gardening, caring for her horses, or spending time with her grandchildren.
Doreen Machado
Commercial Lines Account Manager
Doreen brings 48 years of insurance industry experience to every commercial client relationship at Hanson Insurance Agency. Her career began in claims — specifically as a Workers Compensation Claims Investigator — which gave her a ground-level understanding of what businesses actually face when coverage is put to the test.
For more than 20 years, she has been the agency's commercial lines specialist. Her focus includes business owner's policies, general liability, commercial property, commercial auto, trucking, and workers compensation. Doreen takes genuine pride in making sure commercial clients understand their coverage, meet their compliance requirements, and know there's a real person to call when something comes up.
Outside the office, she supports local community events and fundraisers, plays golf, and spends weekends with her family.
Susan Pennio
Commercial Administrative Assistant
Susan Pennio joined Hanson Insurance Agency in 2000 and brings more than 25 years of experience in the insurance field. As a Commercial Administrative Assistant, she supports the commercial account management team by maintaining client files, processing renewals, and issuing important documents and certificates of insurance.
Known for her attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, Susan takes pride in providing fast, reliable service to both the agency and its clients. She enjoys knowing that her work behind the scenes helps the team stay organized and supports clients with their ongoing insurance needs.
Driven by her Christian faith, Susan brings a spirit of service, integrity, and dedication to her role. She is also connected to His Kids Ministries and values opportunities to serve her community.
Outside the office, Susan enjoys spending time with her family, walking the beach, and participating in her church community.
Peter Burke
Personal Lines Account Manager
Peter has more than 30 years of experience in personal and commercial insurance. He holds CISR and FIC professional designations and is licensed in Massachusetts, Ohio, Missouri, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina. His primary focus at Hanson Insurance Agency is personal lines — home, auto, renters, and umbrella — along with life and health insurance.
Peter's approach is consultative and direct. He works with each client to understand their specific situation before recommending coverage, and he doesn't believe in one-size-fits-all solutions. Outside the office, he's happiest with his dog.
Kamille McDonald
Personal Lines Admin
Kamille McDonald is a licensed Massachusetts Property & Casualty insurance agent with more than 17 years of industry experience. Before entering the insurance field, Kamille earned a degree in Business Science and
Psychology from Bridgewater State University. This has provided her with a solid foundation in customer support and corporate operations. Her focus is on personal insurance, including
home, auto, and umbrella policies.
She manages the agency’s download, personal lines billing of renewals and endorsements. She continually stays updated on industry standards and agency workflows.
She enjoys working closely with the account managers assisting them with
replacement cost estimators, and other documentation needed to fully provide an accurate quote for our personal line’s clients insurance needs.

Stephanie grew up in Hanson. The office at 632 County Road has been at this intersection long enough that most longtime residents know the building on sight. We've had a table at Hanson Day.
